The dues have not been increased over the past 10 years. Our budget costs have increased for all of the expenses we incur for things such as landscaping, insurance, main lights, pond maintenance, pump, etc. The IRS requires for the HOA to have enough funds to sustain the existence of the entity. According to our financial records our budget is not able to maintain a sufficient reserve of funds for potentially major cost liabilities. Also, there is a clause that states the HOA board does have the right to raise the annual dues by vote of the board members. If you were to look at other HOA's the cost increases occur much more frequently. The board does feel the $20 increase over the past 10 years is justified.
