Subject:Early morning help..
Hello! We are looking to see if there is someone in Sycamore Springs, i.e. college student, etc that might be available to help us with one of our sons in the morning until he gets on the bus for school. We need help from 7-8 a.m. in our home. The need is random. Some weeks there will be no need and others we may need help a few days/week. Hoping to find someone that could use a lil extra gas money!?!? If available and interested, please contact me via cell. 937-321-4471

Subject:Yards That Need Serious Attention
I have noticed that there is still a tree down in Chaz and Carla's yard (The first house on the left into our subdivision). That house has been an eyesore for how many years now! Has anyone on the board reached out to them? Has anyone on the board drove through the plat (in particular Lakeside Drive)to see the number of homeowners that have not taken care of their yards?! Thanks, Kim Riley

Seems a week ago when I mailed my $130, the home page still said $130, now I have a letter saying $150. so much for trying to be a good citizen and get the dues in early... By the way, when did we vote on the increase, I haven't seen a meeting notice since last summer.

Hello homeowners. We need our yard cut just one time while we are on vacation within the next couple of weeks. Maybe a son or daughter in the neighborhood who has previous experience cutting grass. We live at 20 Lakeside Drive. E-mail me at kriley1@woh.rr.com or phone me at 937-885-0838.

to charles, good stuff on the meetings, my guess is that the will take it down as soon as someone reads it. the board seems to want to limit the speech of anyone they disagree with.

Subject:Suggested Meeting Guidelines
At the last meeting there was some discussion about how to have an efficient meeting, I suggested Roberts Rules of Order (http://www.robertsrules.com/) as a guide. However, Roberts covers every possibility, so below is a meeting outline based on how most organizations that I have been involved in conduct meetings. Suggested Meeting Guidelines 1. Prior to the meeting: 1.1. Minutes of the previous meeting and agenda for the current meeting should be published prior to the meeting and also be available in printed form at the meeting. 1.2. The meeting agenda should be organized following the meeting outline in paragraph 3. 1.3. The first item of business under any new format is to brief the new format and ground rules and allow the members to discuss them and offer (vote on) any modifications. 2. Basic ground rules: 2.1. A moderator (chairman) will conduct the meeting. If possible (but not necessary) the moderator should not be one of the officers. 2.2. All actions (terminate discussion, call for a vote, etc.) will be the result of a motion from the floor and a second, likewise from the floor. The moderator cannot make a motion, but can call for one. 2.3. Each speaker must be recognized by the moderator prior to speaking. 2.3.1. Only one person may speak at a time. 2.3.2. Members wishing to speak will raise their hand or stand until recognized by the moderator. 2.3.3. All speakers will address the moderator and when speaking for the first time will indicate their name and street address. 2.3.4. There will be no debates between members 2.3.5. It is poor form and grounds to be ruled “out of order” to insult other members of the group when speaking. 2.3.6. In the interest of time, no one may speak more than twice on any one item of business. 2.3.7. The moderator cannot call for a motion to terminate discussion while legitimate speakers are waiting to speak. [Legitimate speaker is one that is standing / has a raised hand and has not spoken twice on the topic being discussed.] 3. Conducting the meeting: 3.1. The moderator calls the meeting to order. 3.2. Approval of the minutes from the previous meeting: 3.2.1. If the minutes have been previously published, the moderator will ask if there is any discussion. If there is discussion, it will be conducted according to the rules after which a motion will be made to accept the minutes as written or with modification per the discussion. The minutes are accepted with a majority show of hands. 3.2.2. If the minutes have not been published prior to the meeting, they will be read, discussed and approved (see 3.2.1) 3.3. Committee reports: 3.3.1. Treasurer’s report – This report is required at each meeting and should include an accounting of expenditures and funds received since the previous meeting. The Treasurer’s Report can be published prior to the meeting. 3.3.2. Reports of any committees chartered by the board. 3.4. Old Business – Discussion and voting (if necessary) on any topics held over from the previous meeting. 3.5. New Business – Discussion and voting (if necessary) on topics that have come up since the previous meeting. 3.6. General Discussion – This gives members the opportunity to bring up topics of interest / concern for discussion and voting (if necessary). Topics from this discussion may end up as agenda items for the next meeting or as topics for committee’s / working groups to consider. 3.7. Closing the meeting: 3.7.1. In the absence of further discussion, the moderator will: 3.7.1.1. Ask for a review of any actions from the meeting. 3.7.1.2. Announce the time / place for the next meeting. 3.7.1.3. Call for a motion to adjourn – Once the motion is properly made, seconded, and affirmed by a vote, the meeting is adjourned and official business is concluded.

Kevin...Why don't the BOARD MEMBERS approach the home owner or owners in question? Why make the entire neighborhood suffer? I would think there would be other concerns like, a half painted home in our neighborhood. Its been about 3 years now. I can understand the trash cans! Go after cars parked on your own personal property (DRIVEWAY) is a little foolish. One more thing...Why only homeowners that attend the meeting tonight are the only ones that get to vote?? I would think that the entire neighborhood would have a say in this. I know several homeowners that did not receive the little white flyer that was handed out talking about the NEW BY-LAW CHANGES. Seams like a lack of commutation with the Board members and the home owners. Kind of like the garage sale. (No reminder, or advertisement other than Craig's list one time.)

Previous post is a good thought on the cars. It seems that some board members have a personal bone to pick.

Add bylaw to limit amount of cars parked on driveways. Changed bylaw to read, “Maximum of three cars may be parked on the driveway. Additional cars are limited to 72 hours within a 30 consecutive day period.” What the heck, What if you have 4 kids that are driving? All you are going to do is upset a lot of people. What's next the amount of air that you can breath in once you enter the neighborhood? I'm all for keeping are neighborhood looking nice, I think that the people in Sycamore Springs is all for that also. I wonder which H.O.A. board member don't like a neighbor by them that parks more than 3 cars in the driveway so they added this stupid bylaw change. Think about it??

I have spoken to several neighbors and they had no idea we were having a community garage sale this year. Most people don't ever look at this site. I think flyers need to be sent out to let everyone know when it is, otherwise we will have very few people participating.

Subject:Current Lawn Mowing Company
Kim Riley at 20 Lakeside Drive here again :) Will you please advise our new lawn mowing service that I will continue to cut the grass located in the common area associated with our address (sidewalk to Lytle Five Points Road). We seed, weed and feed that grass so it looks as nice as the rest of our yard. The lawn mowing service just cuts the grass way too short. Thank you.
